New Gyptone INSTANT from CertainTeed Ceilings offers immediate acoustical upgrade to existing spaces

By Healthcare Facilities Today

Valley Forge, Pa. – CertainTeed Ceilings is expanding its line of Gyptone perforated gypsum acoustical panels with Gyptone INSTANT, a flexible wall panel system that can immediately transform the design and sound dynamics of an existing space. The system’s unique perforated surface reduces reverberation time and increases speech intelligibility—an ideal solution in K-12 schools, conference rooms and offices.

"While studies have shown that acoustical upgrades can have a positive impact in learning environments and workplaces, a complete acoustical redesign isn't always an option," said Dawn Chittick, director of marketing for CertainTeed Ceilings. "Gyptone INSTANT is an economical and attractive way to enhance acoustics in these spaces in a matter of hours—sometimes even less."

Complementing the company's Gyptone BIG large format acoustical panels, the Gyptone INSTANT system is comprised of four 600 mm by 600 mm panels available in four distinct perforation patterns—Quattro 20, Point 11, Line 4 and Sixto 60. The panels are pre-finished in a bright white with a light reflectance of 0.70, but can also be painted on-site with a short nap roller to add a colorful element to the room. A pre-painted, extruded aluminum white frame completes the system, which can be quickly and easily mounted on the wall—either horizontally or vertically—with little to no disruption to the space or its occupants.

Made of 80 percent pre-consumer and five percent post-consumer recycled content, Gyptone INSTANT contributes to sustainable building standards. Also, the panels are certified for low VOC emissions, helping to maintain high indoor air quality.

As experts in the science of sound, CertainTeed Ceilings serves as a single source for high-quality ceilings that create acoustically friendly, aesthetically captivating environments. Encompassing the Performa®, Ecophon® and Gyptone® brands along with Decoustics® — a leader in high-precision, custom-engineered solutions — the company offers the perfect balance of innovation, budget and beauty with products that range from basic high-performance panels to premium, customizable systems. Through its Environmental Acoustics™ design and research, CertainTeed Ceilings provides solutions that promote healthier interiors while having a smaller impact on the environment. The company offers ceiling panels with one of the highest concentrations of recycled content in the industry as well as a recycling program for used ceiling panels.
