The $40-million, 112-bed tertiary-care Health City Cayman Islands hospital in Grand Cayman, completed by DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group, is the first project of its size on the island to be completed with an aggressive 12-month construction schedule, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.
Over the next decade, the hospital plans to expand to a 2,000-bed facility. It currently offers cardiac surgery, cardiology and orthopedics care.
The facility has semi and private patient rooms; an ICU suite; three operating theaters; one hybrid operating theater; a lab; an imaging suite, which includes an MRI, gamma camera, nuclear med and CT room; a dental area; a full kitchen; a dining area; a sewer treatment plant; an underground cistern; an oxygen generator; an autoclave and all required support space.
