New hazardous waste rules focus on labs and healthcare facilities

A proposed rule focuses on hazardous waste pharmaceuticals

Reviced hazardous waste generator regulations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) may bring changes to healthcare facilities, according to an article on the Facilities Today website.

The EPA’s goal is to enhance drinking and surface water quality by preventing the flushing of hazardous waste pharmaceuticals by healthcare facilities.
