The new 742,000-square-foot South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, has an intimate feel because the facility is actually a series of smaller connected blocks, with the buildings nearest to the entrance limited to two and three stories, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website. Inside, shallow floor plates and a wide, fully glazed main public corridor that runs the length of the arc afford views to the outdoors and maximize the benefits of natural light, the article said.
