Noesis Energy aims to spur energy efficiency projects with Noesis Pro Project Services

AUSTIN, Texas - Noesis Energy, the fastest-growing energy measurement and savings website, is expanding its array of services aimed at reducing the friction that hinders the progress of energy efficiency projects with the launch of Noesis Pro Project Services. Designed for commercial and industrial energy professionals who identify and recommend energy-efficiency projects, this premium service from Noesis Energy speeds the approval and funding of energy projects by combining front- and back-office delivery tools with assistance and expertise in the preparation of proposals and the validation of crucial supporting financial analysis.

The service is delivered by Noesis' energy project specialists who leverage Noesis' online system for analyzing and collaborating on proposed energy projects. The web-based platform allows both parties to share information and documents about the project, and engage in online discussions and review Noesis' interactive charts and graphs — all of which accelerate proposal preparation. As part of the service, Noesis develops a customized energy project appraisal, a rigorous and independently verified assessment of the project that CFOs and lenders can understand and trust. The project appraisal adheres to standards defined by the Environmental Defense Fund's Investor Confidence Project and is used to quickly evaluate potential energy project investments by leading financial institutions, including Noesis' syndicate of efficiency financing lenders.

After the projects are completed, Pro Project Services customers also can increase trust in their project through online, independent measurement and verification, whereby Noesis delivers one year of monthly savings reports that measure that actual project savings. Rather than tracking savings manually, the customer receives automated, continuous savings tracking that complies with ASHRAE and IPMVP standards.

"We crunch the numbers, analyses, and forecasts, and provide a rigorous appraisal of the project that gives CFOs and decision makers confidence in the project's ROI and overall project success," said Dave Jaros, VP of marketing at Noesis. "The CFO is presented with an independently verified financial analysis that provides a sound basis for internal funding of the project in addition to a range of third-party financing options."

Noesis Pro Project Services is designed for companies that perform numerous project proposals where success is contingent on the project being approved and funded. At the same time, Noesis Pro Project Services can assist companies that propose only one or two projects per year.

For example, Energime, an energy management company that helps businesses control their energy costs, has signed a multi-project agreement to use Noesis Pro Project Services. "For us, Noesis Pro Projects acts as our project back office — validating the energy analysis, modeling the financials and working with the lenders — so our consultants can focus on working directly with our customers," said Svetozar Milter, national business development manager at Energime.

"Noesis Energy helped us normalize quotes from two lighting vendors so that we could present an independently verified, apples-to-apples comparison to our client," said Ron DeLyons, CEO of Creekwood Energy Partners. "Through the collaborative process with Noesis, we identified a faulty assumption in the vendor's calculations that overestimated the potential savings. Creekwood's collaboration with Noesis provided our client with the accurate forecasts required to make the right decision."

Temur Akhmedov, an executive at Engineered Systems & Energy Solutions, views Noesis Pro Project Services as a valuable complement to his firm's services. "Noesis took our audit report and created an appraisal that helped give our customer confidence that the energy savings numbers we had calculated were represented accurately. The fact that Noesis Pro Project reporting is aligned with the Investor Confidence Project of EDF was critical for us. Access to potential funding for energy efficiency projects is a valuable service we could offer to our clients who use Noesis' resources."

"Our recent survey of energy managers and consultants revealed that less than 25 percent of energy proposals get approved. Just like in the commercial mortgage market, an investment in energy efficiency ultimately lives or dies on its financial credentials. Noesis Pro Project Services enables project owners and consultants to present their proposal in terms that CFOs and lenders can readily understand," said Scott Harmon, CEO of Noesis Energy.
