Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio, postponed surgeries until further notice after the operating room team found staining on surgical towels recently, according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.

Postponing surgeries was a "proactive measure" as instrumentation passes all quality standards, according to Adena. Teams are working to find the source of the staining.

Patients who need surgery are being determined on a case-by-case basis, and the hospital is transporting patients who can travel to other hospitals.
