McAlester Regional Health Center in McAlester, Okla., is preparing to have extra hospital beds if needed during the coronavirus crisis, according to an article on the McAlester News-Capital website.
As of mid April, the Oklahoma State Department of Health said a total of eight positive cases have been reported in Pittsburg County, since testing for COVID-19 began in the state. The tent is 19 feet wide and 20 feet long , big enough to provide some relief if the McAlester hospital should get into an overflow situation.
It's equipped with a generator as well as heating and air units. The hospital tent came from the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
