One Call Care Management to acquire TechHealth Inc.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—One Call Care Management (One Call), the nation’s leading provider of specialized cost containment services to the workers’ compensation industry, today announced plans to acquire TechHealth, Inc. (TechHealth), also a leading provider of cost containment services for workers’ compensation and whose Physical Therapy (PT) program includes a proprietary national network.

The acquisition of TechHealth is expected to drive meaningful value for the existing customers of both companies. Joe Delaney, President & CEO of One Call Care Management, commented, “We have devoted ourselves to finding best-in-class solutions within our core area of expertise. Our guiding principle is to combine clinical expertise with the most highly skilled network of local providers committed to delivering the best service possible. Our acquisition of TechHealth is evidence of our continued commitment to this strategy. It also represents our entry into the Physical Therapy market, which plays a vital role in returning injured workers to good health.”

Delaney continued, “TechHealth’s PT Progress program provides customers with an excellent opportunity to control utilization and take advantage of clinically sound, efficient management in this important area of care.”

TechHealth CEO Tom Sweet observed, “There are tremendous complements on both sides that will be leveraged to continue delivering a world-class experience for our customers. Like One Call, TechHealth combines proven technology, clinical expertise, outstanding customer service, and insightful reporting to deliver superior outcomes and well-managed costs.”

Both organizations have been serving the claims management needs of insurance carriers, third party administrators, and self-insured employers for over two decades. Delaney added, “The Workers’ Compensation industry is constantly changing and evolving, and One Call and TechHealth are uniquely equipped to serve our clients’ growing needs with innovative, creative, thoughtful and customer-focused solutions. Together, I am confident that we will continue to delight our clients with our ability to produce better outcomes.”

Integration plans are underway. Once complete, Physical Therapy solutions will be delivered through a dedicated business unit. Delaney added, “With existing complementary programs such as Equipment and Device Management, Home Health, Diagnostics, and Transportation and Language Services, we will integrate best-of-breed services, strategies, and technologies to transform the way injured workers receive the care they need, from the point of injury to recovery.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and consents. One Call expects to close the transaction during the third quarter.
