Before the COVID-19pandemic, infection prevention in healthcare facilities focused on hospital-acquired infections, but that’s going to change, according to an article on the Infection Control Today website.

Hospital-acquired infections are primarily bacterial. Now there will be a lot more focus on viruses, as well. 

Continuously acting disinfectants are expected to be key to help environmental service departments do a better job of keeping healthcare facilities better protected.

The problem is with many disinfectants is while they will inactivate or kill what they touch, but these surfaces can become re-contaminated.
