Report finds healthcare lagging in cybersecurity protocols

The healthcare industry is one of the lowest performing industries in terms of endpoint security


The healthcare industry is one of the lowest performing industries in terms of endpoint security, according to an article on the Healthcare Informatics website.

In fact, healthcare ranks near the bottom (15 of 17) in cybersecurity strength compared to other major industries, according to a new report from security risk company SecurityScorecard.

Some of the report’s other findings include:

• Social engineering attacks continue to put patient data at risk

• Sixty percent of the most common cybersecurity issues in the healthcare industry relate to poor patching cadence (which measures how quickly an organization applies an update that patches a security vulnerability)
