Reported cases of coronavirus up by 1,000 in a day

Eighteen countries have confirmed cases


There are 6,165 confirmed coronavirus cases on Jan.29, — an increase of more than 1,000 from the day before, according to an article on Becker's Hospital Review website.

Eighteen countries have confirmed cases. There have been 133 confirmed deaths, all in China.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the risk level is low in the U.S., as only five coronavirus patients have been confirmed.

The U.S. evacuated 240 citizens from China the morning of Jan. 29, according to report from CNN reports. The chartered flight stopped in Alaska to refuel and screen passengers for coronavirus symptoms before arriving in California.
