The South Texas VA is adjusting to a changing population as women veterans in the healthcare system are the largest growing demographic, according to an article on the Fox San Antonio website.
"Women veterans are the fastest growing population of veterans. We average about 1,000 new veterans every year in South Texas and that's a lot of women. The VA is taking some big steps for their well-being," said Barbara Hector, the women's veterans program manager.
Now the VA recognizing the problem, and creating a solution.
A women's clinic is on the radar, but there isn't a specific timeline yet.
