Two patients at another Glasgow hospital died after receiving treatment for a fungal infection linked to pigeon droppings


Staff members at a second Glasgow, Scotland, hospital have said they have complained about pigeon droppings but health officials failed to act, according to an article on the Evening Times website.

Workers from the New Victoria Hospital say they have been raising concerns about pigeon mess since the building opened.

Two patients at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital died after receiving treatment for a fungal infection, Cryptococcus, which is linked to pigeon dirt.

Now staff at New Victoria claim pigeons have been creating a mess in the underground car park since the building opened in 2009.
