Surgeon falls off rolling stool, successfully sues for $7 million

The stool was allegedly only suitable for use on a soft, carpeted flooring surface


Surgeon who fell off a rolling stool successfully sued the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. for $7 million, according to an article on the Outpatient Surgery website. The accident allegedly caused a brain injury that ended his career

 

Another hospital employee had complained to hospital management that the same type of stool would "come out from under you" when you tried to sit on it

 

The stool had hard plastic casters and much more likely to roll out from under a user than an identical stool with rubber wheels, the suit said.

 

The stool was allegedly only suitable for use on a soft, carpeted flooring surface.
