According to a blog by Senior Editor Anne DiNardo on the Healthcare Design magazine website, sustainable design has reached a tipping point, as more projects include energy- and water-saving features, specify healthy building materials and make smarter design decisions. The U.S. Green Building Council recently reported that, around the world, buildings totaling 3 billion square feet of green construction space have earned LEED certification to date. According to the blog, healthcare is part of the trend, making a difference one facility at a time.
