TechInsights, a trusted patent and technology partner to the world’s largest and most successful companies, announced its Technical Intellectual Property Seminars (TIPS), a series of free, educational webinars that are delivered directly to IP teams, when and where needed. These programs include presentations as well as 1-1 Q&A opportunities with a TechInsights IP expert. “Our TIPS programs are a value-add, no cost service designed to help IP teams keep abreast of critical information as they maximize the ROI on their IP portfolios,” said Ian MacLean, VP of Intellectual Property Services at TechInsights. “The initial programs, which address some of the most pressing issues facing IP teams today, are ideal opportunities to interact with and gain insights from the world’s foremost Technical IP experts.” Currently, TechInsights offers these TIPS programs: • Automotive Patents - Owners, Technologies, and Investigating for EOU • Black Box Reveal - Investigating Patented Technology in Challenging Product Areas • Using Technical Evidence to Strengthen Patents The Automotive Patents program provides an overview of technology-based patenting strategies in the current automotive market, and includes examples of information and strategies that will help companies prepare for accelerated automotive IP management and monetization. It covers the current and future landscape, players, products, and patents and how to find evidence and patents of value. Black Box Reveal is the term TechInsights uses to refer to technology that, for one reason or another, is difficult to analyze for evidence of use. This program will address different use cases where black box investigation may be required and discuss how to define the price point at which black box reveal moves from difficult to unfeasible for an organization. Participants in the Patent Strengthening program will learn about the four primary opportunities to build patents with optimal potential for value and enforceability. These include detecting potential use of the invention in commercial products; indication of market adoption; uncovering continuation opportunities, and identifying applications for abandonment.
