ProMedica is planning a $350-million dollar replacement tower on the campus of ProMedica Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.
The 302-bed patient care tower will replace a nearly 90-year-old facility and will have all-private rooms featuring user-friendly technology.
Room design and floor layouts will be designed to reduce walking time by more than 50 percent. Nurses now walk up to three miles in a 12-hour shift, the article said.
The floor and room layouts also will make it easier for nurses and physicians to connect and collaborate.
