In an article on the Healthcare Design magazine's website, editor in chief Kristin Zeit, lists the magazine's editors' picks for their favorite new healthcare projects that opened their doors in 2013.

Chickasaw Nation Health Clinic-Tishomingo, Tishomingo, Okla. The designers integrated colors and symbols of great significance to the culture in a thoroughly modern and design-forward way.

Seattle Children’s Building Hope addition, Seattle.  This addition features the country’s first inpatient cancer unit dedicated to teens and young adults.

Spaulding Rehabilitiation Hospital, Boston. A waterfront hospital that integrates with the surrounding community in a unique way.

T.J. Health Pavilion in Glasgow, Ky. The well-integrated space is a former Walmart store, plus an added-on medical office building.

Naval Hospital at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Expected to earn LEED Gold certification, the facility achieved all five Innovation in Design credits.
