Training webinar offered on healthcare workplace violence and prevention

Mentor Health will host the webinar “Workplace Violence Plans, Policies, & Procedures for Hospitals & Healthcare Facilities” on April 30 at 1 p.m. Eastern.
The 75-minute session will cover the following topic areas:
• Scope and impact of workplace violence in the healthcare setting, including the financial impact on healthcare organizations
• Four types of workplace violence and their associated risk factors
• Elements of an effective workplace violence prevention program, including management commitment and employee involvement
• Worksite hazard analysis
• Universal precautions for violence, including implementing training for early recognition of escalating behavior or warning signs, ways to de-escalate individuals and self-protection in violent situations
Joe Rosner, director, Best Defense USA will present the session. Rosner is a nationally recognized expert on workplace violence and personal safety for healthcare and other occupations. He has previously spoken at The National Emergency Management Summit, The American Healthcare Association and The Heartland Healthcare Conference.
