A new approach to improve safety and prevent falls in hospitals has been introduced across Doncaster, Rotherham and North Lincolnshire, according to an article on the Gainsborough Standard website.
The Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) will formally launch FallSafe, a patient safety project, across all inpatient wards in older people’s mental health services and Doncaster Community Integrated Services in late April.
FallSafe will bring together existing and new fall prevention resources and involves building a team approach to practice improvement, educating clinicians with an e-learning course and other resources.
“Teams have already been using the FallSafe information, but formally adopting the initiative will enable our services and staff to take this work to the next level,” Liz Copley, a consultant occupational therapist, said in the article.
