U.S. coronavirus death toll hits 11

California declares state of emergency


As the U.S. coronavirus death toll hit 11 March 4, both California Gov. Gavin  Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti declared states of emergency, according to an article on the USA Today website.

California also reported six additional cases of the virus.

More than 150 cases have been confirmed in the U.S. 

The California death occurred near Sacramento and was the first fatality outside of Washington state.
