UV Sanitized chooses Spectra254 UVC Light Solutions for day care center, nursing home disinfection services

Spectra254, a provider of UVC light disinfection solutions, announced today that UV Sanitized, a Missouri-based ultraviolet light disinfection services provider, has chosen its Spectra 1000 Series and RDS-30 systems for clients who require a high level of sanitization. UV Sanitized is at this time the only company in the Midwest offering mobile UVC light disinfection services.

The company will use Spectra 1000 Series and RDS-30 devices for its clients, which include day care centers, nursing homes and ambulatory surgery centers. The Spectra 1000 Series devices are to be used for whole-room decontamination, while the RDS-30 systems will be used to disinfect smaller, handheld items such as books, toys and television remotes.

The mission of UV Sanitized is to bring UVC light disinfection to care providers outside the hospital market that are in need of UVC light technology’s high efficacy rates. With a UVC light disinfection system from Spectra254, that can mean 99.98 percent efficacy in killing superbugs such as MRSA and C. difficile, which have been found in some nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

"The company was founded upon the belief that everyone who needs it should have access to ultraviolet C light disinfection,” said Cody Smith, owner/director of business development for UV Sanitized. “Co-owner Todd Rominger and I found a natural partnership in Spectra254 in our shared passion for giving smaller organizations access to highly effective technologies that can help keep people healthy.”

UV Sanitized provides customized whole room disinfection services for its customers, including UVC light decontamination on a recurring basis and education on how best to use UVC light for decontamination. The company also provides a laboratory test illustrating the difference in efficacy between UVC light disinfection and chemical cleaning to area day care centers and nursing homes that are interested in the technology.

“UV Sanitized is using Spectra254’s disinfection systems to serve those most vulnerable to harmful bacteria, viruses and pathogens,” said Sanford Green, Spectra254’s senior executive. “By concentrating on serving children, elders and the staff who care for them, Todd and Cody are bringing an extra level of infection protection to a group of people who otherwise may not have access to this effective disinfection technology.”

UV Sanitized, based in Carthage, Mo., has recently received federal funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration and was an exhibitor at the Missouri Healthcare Association’s Mid-Year Conference in Springfield, Mo., in March.

Spectra254’s solutions have been thoroughly tested and evaluated by independent laboratories and found to be 99.98 percent effective in eliminating surface and air pathogens, including MRSA, CRE, C. difficile spores and other bacteria and superbugs. A recent study also proves the system is 99.99 percent effective at killing an Ebola surrogate on surfaces at a distance of up to 15 feet.

Spectra254 UVC light decontamination systems use high-intensity UVC light to eliminate pathogens on surfaces. The company offers a practical approach to UVC disinfection in healthcare and related markets, developing multiple systems that are independently tested, easy to use and offer an expanded set of features, functions and benefits normally reserved for systems at a much higher price.

Spectra254’s systems are assembled by an ISO 9001:2008 + AS9100C certified company located in Connecticut, USA. Full product line details are available at www.spectra254.com, by calling 203-796-5315 direct or through emailing sales@spectra254.com.
