Universal Invites Fixture Designers to ‘Customize Away’ with New Expanded Web Resource

Universal Lighting Technologies, Inc., a global leader in lighting and a member of the Panasonic Group, has introduced new web resources to share its expertise in the design and development of standard modules, custom modules, and select Assembled in the U.S.A. LED modules.

The expanded web resource will serve as a hub for lighting designers looking to request high performance LED modules for their fixture designs. The enhanced modules web resource pages include a custom request form, capabilities video, capabilities brochure, spec sheets, application notes, and offers access to information on the Assembled in the U.S.A. select modules manufactured in the Huntsville, Alabama facility.

Universal provides customers a variety of standard form factor options in a host of patterns, shapes and sizes. Beyond the standard modules, Universal offers LED custom module solutions for unique luminaires. The expanded website offers configuration support from simple linear LED module strips to complex full fixture designs, and highlights the company’s long-standing capabilities.

“Universal has been a preferred brand for top tier OEM providers for decades. The enhanced web resources leverage our Panasonic ownership, engineering expertise, and ability to manufacture flexible custom solutions,” said Joe Damiani, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Universal Lighting Technologies. “Universal is dedicated to stringent design validation testing and rigorous tests to ensure the module meets high performance criteria for a robust range of applications.”

The web resources highlight the fact that Universal Lighting Technologies, Douglas Lighting Controls and Vossloh-Schwabe, are sister companies with Panasonic, and have a vast technical staff with expertise in optical, thermal, electrical, software development, communications hardware, embedded system design, and mechanical design.

“Universal begins with your original concept and looks at the whole system when recommending a solution,” stated Damiani. “We have available access to a wide range of components, from sourced LEDs, to Printed Circuit Board materials, optical systems and connector types. Having the right materials for your solution means we can meet the rigorous requirements of your design in a wide variety of applications. We are not obligated to use a specific manufacturer’s component so we are not limited to specific devices. This independence allows us to provide the true light engine solution for your system requirement.”

The EVERLINE LED standard modules are designed for use in high performance lighting fixtures with features that include high efficacy, lumen maintenance and consistent color. Universal provides modules for DLC Standard and DLC Premium luminaires. Conformal coating material is an available option.

The new web resources promote Universal’s fully equipped North American manufacturing facility with flex assemblies and PPAP/UL/ISO capability to ensure reliable products can be easily sourced. As a long-time supplier of premium lighting solutions, Universal has adopted innovative processes in manufacturing and logistics. These methods increase flexibility and create high volume potential with tens of thousands of modules produced per day.
