VESDA-E honored with innovation awards at government trade shows in USA & Russia

Dublin, IRE — Just a few months since launch and unprecedented in the industry, the VESDA-E aspirating smoke detector by Xtralis was honoured with prestigious product innovation awards at both the MIPS Moscow International Exhibition, and at GovSec Conference & Expo in Washington, DC. Expert judges on different continents came to the same conclusion, that VESDA-E, offers the best features, innovation, user-friendliness, scalability, and impact on the industry. The awards are the 5th & 6th awards won by Xtralis solutions in the past year alone.

VESDA-E was awarded a Platinum Govie Award, the highest in Fire & Life Safety, at the GovSec Conference & Expo, held May 13 & 14. The Govie honours outstanding safety & security products noted for exceptional suitability for USA government applications. The GovSec Conference & Expo is the USA’s premier event for Government, Homeland Security, and Law Enforcement professionals looking for proven strategies and cost effective technology so they can achieve their mission of protecting critical infrastructures, key assets, and communities across the United States.

VESDA-E also recently won for Best Product Innovation — Fire Alarm and Security at the 20th MIPS Moscow International Exhibition, held April 14-17. MIPS Moscow is the largest exhibition for Security and Fire Safety in Eastern Europe and Russia. Award winners are promoted in a Russian governmental list of recommended products. Winning companies can sell directly to equipment installers and end-users in Russia without going through lengthy certification processes.

With two prestigious awards already secured, VESDA-E is also competing for an Australian Good Design Award, given to solutions that provide consumers with a clear indicator of the cornerstones of good design — form, function, quality, safety, sustainability, commerciality, and innovation. Good Design Award winners will be announced on May 28, at a gala event in Sydney, Australia.

While current-generation VESDA was considered the benchmark for ASD systems, VESDA-E surpasses that with 15 times greater sensitivity to smoke and double the longevity, with 8% less power consumption. Unique to fire protection, VESDA-E can quickly add remote monitoring, servicing, and detection capabilities with the addition of bolt-on hardware modules called VESDA Stax, including a version of its award-winning ECO gas detection solution. VESDA-E offers innovative & easy setup, configuration, remote monitoring, and connectivity options. A first in the industry, VESDA-E can be enhanced with downloadable software applications, called Xapps, which enable new, on-demand monitoring services. Available immediately are DustTrace, DieselTrace, and WireTrace Xapps, to monitor conditions and enable corrective response to take place before threats escalate. VESDA-E can be remotely and wirelessly monitored & managed using an iVESDA mobile app available on IOS & Android mobile devices. iVESDA mobility provides intelligent situational awareness for local & emergency personnel, vastly improving response time and effectiveness.

“We’re excited about the introduction of the VESDA-E series, and we’re showcasing it to our customers across the USA. VESDA-E offers true innovation in sensitivity to smoke, reliability, and connectivity, and we think this will be a great fire prevention solution for a variety of mission critical applications,”VESDA VEU commented Paul Nelson, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at ORR Protection Systems, the largest privately-owned safety and fire protection company in the USA. “ORR is known for its culture of innovation, so it’s natural that we partner with Xtralis, a company that consistently delivers innovative & reliable early warning systems for fire prevention,” added Nelson.

Commenting on the MIPS award, Natalia Khazova, CEO of P Pozhtechnika Group said, "the VESDA-E range of products from Xtralis are a great development.
