WHO says Congo Ebola outbreak spreading faster than ever

Each of the past two weeks have registered a record number of new cases


Eight months after it was detected, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ebola outbreak is spreading at its fastest rate, according to an article on the Reuters website.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said the past two weeks have registered a record number of new cases.

The situation marks a setback as less than three weeks ago, WHO said the outbreak was largely contained and could be stopped by September.

The number of cases hit a record 57 the following week.
