WakeMed Health & Hospitals building $66.3 million expansion

New Raleigh, N.C., facility will focus on inpatient women's specialty services


WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., is building a $66.3 million expansion that will focus on inpatient women’s specialty care, including obstetric and gynecological services, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

The expansion will add five stories, 131,000 square feet and 61 acute care beds. The project also includes a one-story, 8,550-square-foot central energy plant and an expanded parking area.

The project is pursuing LEED Gold certification. the article said.
