White paper examines smartphone personal-duress apps for healthcare facility safety

Apps can also provide immediate access to customized safety information and procedures in an emergency

DefenCall, Inc., a subsidiary of Defentect Group, Inc. recently announced the publication of a new white paper. The “Guide to Smartphone Personal Duress Apps for Hospitals and Health Campuses” explores how healthcare facilities can use smartphone personal duress button apps as part of their overall safety plan to improve security, according to an article in the Hispanic Business Times.

Smartphone personal duress apps introduce a new level of protection to healthcare facility workers and volunteers by providing a personal duress button on their smartphones to enhance their ability to call for help in an urgent situation by notifying both first responders and administrative staff, the article said. These apps can also provide immediate access to customized safety information and procedures for users to follow in an emergency.
