White paper explores how flooring impacts patient care

Noise levels can affect healing, reduce efficiency


A new white paper explores how healthcare facility flooring can impact patient care, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

“Managing Noise in the Healthcare Space through Flooring Specification,” from Ecore says high noise levels can negatively impact the healing process, inhibit clinician efficiency and create compliance concerns.

Some noise-absorbing flooring materials can reduce noise without sacrificing cleanliness or ergonomic comfort.

The white paper cites a study conducted by the University of Hartford Acoustics program that quantified the influence different flooring materials can have on hospital corridor noise.
