Program focuses on de-escalation and addressing four stages of crises

A new workplace violence training program focuses on healthcare settings and focuses on de-escalation and addressing four stages of crises, according to an article on the HCPro website.

The four-stage crisis framework includes:

1. Anxiety - where somebody is showing they are agitated.

2. Defensiveness - where someone is likely to verbally challenge staff.

The program also includes guidance for breaking negative news to patients and family members.
