Zurn Facility Achieves LEED Gold Certification

Rexnord Corporation’s new Zurn facility has achieved LEED Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) designed and CD Smith constructed the building that serves as a destination for Zurn customers, designers, and industry influencers from around the world.

The new 52,000 square foot building, located at 511 W. Freshwater Way in Milwaukee’s Reed Street Yards, features an expansive training and customer experience center. The design emphasis was on sustainable features including building positioning to maximize daylighting, sustainable and local material choice and stormwater management. Other features include collaborative workspaces, a fitness center, electric vehicle charging stations and bike storage.

Zurn plumbing products are used throughout the building and are expected to contribute to a 44 percent reduction in water usage as compared to a building built to code. The location in Reed Street Yards provides easy access to bike paths and public transportation.

Throughout the entire planning, design, and construction process for Zurn, the goal of achieving LEED Gold was in mind.
